Do You Have Trouble Saying NO?
If you have trouble saying no and feel like people walk all over you then it is time to learn about assertive communication.
Assertive communication is the ability to honestly express your feelings or opinions without anxiety or anger. It should not be confused with aggressive behavior.
Assertive behavior is clear and direct communication. Assertiveness is about being responsible for yourself, and making your life work for you, instead of being a victim of circumstances. It promotes feelings of confidence – midway between being a bully and feeling like a doormat.
Assertive behavior is dependent on a feeling of self-efficacy, knowing that if you act a certain way, something predictable will occur.
Do you want to be more assertive?
