Are Emotion and Motivation Intertwined?
Motivation and emotion are often intertwined.
I.                    Emotion can cause motivation.
Example: Anger over your work environment may motivate you to look for a new job. Jealousy of an ex-boyfriend may motivate you to date his roommate.
II.                 Motivation can cause emotion.
Example: Your motivation to win the community marathon may lead you to feel anxiety over the competition. The outcome of the race will cause you to feel either elation if you win or disappointment if you lose.

Motivation and emotion are closely related and may intertwine but they are not the same thing.
Are you motivated by emotion?
